The Most Important Attribute in a Property Manager – Team Opinions!

Amy: Communication & listening skills – day in, day out, you spend time speaking to clients and working alongside them, whether that be over the phone, on email or in client in-person meetings.

Ed: Time management – effectively managing my time across all client needs.

Sophie: Attention to detail – that could be actively listening to clients, well written minutes that don’t miss any key points or comprehensive contractor briefs, so the job gets done properly.

Connor: Empathy – we deal with a lot of clients in emotive situations for example water ingress and floods … clients are understandably upset, and tensions can be quite high, so the ability to put yourself in their shoes, calm them down and provide a solution that works for them, and their property is important.

Chris: Assertiveness – there are times you need to be understanding of owners as it’s their home why they live and there’s other times you need to be more firm in terms of the lease and conditions within, so it’s trying to get the balance between assertive and understanding.
